The Details: DIY Chair Signs

Remember those DIY chair signs I made?  Well, I actually remembered to put them out as decorations (it's amazing how many things I actually forgot).  Here are the beauties in all their glory:

I am so glad that I made these.  They were cheap and easy and they looked so stinking cute on our chairs!  I love them.  And, just in case you were wondering, I followed through with my after-wedding plan for them.  They are currently on our his and hers closet door handles.  :)

The *official* chair decision!

It's official.  We have a chair decision!

You might recall that I was torn about whether to use regular, metal folding chairs with chair covers and sashes:

Or if I wanted to use the upgraded white resin chairs with sashes:

Well, we have a winner.  We are going to go with the white resin chairs.  They are going to end up being cheaper than the basic folding chair with the chair covers.  That's not the only reason we came to this decision though.  I think the plain resin chairs will be more fitting for the wedding.  The chair covers seem a little more elegant than what we're looking for.

However, I do think I want the sashes to go vertically instead of horizontally.  Also, I'd like the sashes to be tulle.  So, the chairs will look like this (except they will be white with navy sashes):

It's nice to have one more decision done!  What do you think?

Venue + Chairs

Philip's aunt and uncle sent us a few pictures of the our ceremony venue, Chickies Rock Park. The pictures are from October. Another wedding was taking place. I'm still in love with the area. I think it's going to be absolutely beautiful. :)

They used the gazebo as a sort of dressing room. We plan to use it as the focal point of the ceremony. We will say our vows directly in front of the gazebo entryway.

They set up the chairs to sort of look out over the overlook. I really like the overlook, but I don't want to leave the gazebo out. It's beautiful, too.

Here you can see that the gazebo is behind the chairs and the altar. I feel like the gazebo is a distraction this way. But, whatever floats their boats!

I have one other complaint. I hate the chairs. I don't want ugly rental chairs. I want the entire ceremony area to be gorgeous. I've come up with 2 different options for chairs.

If I do decide to use the cheap rental chairs, I will have chair covers with sashes. It will look something like this:

The other option is to use white resin chairs with the padded seat. They look nice on their own, but I'd also probably add a tulle sash to those as well (but probably vertical instead of horizontal). Also, I would definitely have pomanders (kissing balls) hanging from the chairs on the aisle. So, they'd look something like this:

Except, the chairs will be white instead of the brown/wood color. I like that color as well, but it's just not the look I want. What do you think??
