Philip's aunt and uncle sent us a few pictures of the our ceremony venue, Chickies Rock Park. The pictures are from October. Another wedding was taking place. I'm still in love with the area. I think it's going to be absolutely beautiful. :)
They used the gazebo as a sort of dressing room. We plan to use it as the focal point of the ceremony. We will say our vows directly in front of the gazebo entryway.
They set up the chairs to sort of look out over the overlook. I really like the overlook, but I don't want to leave the gazebo out. It's beautiful, too.
Here you can see that the gazebo is behind the chairs and the altar. I feel like the gazebo is a distraction this way. But, whatever floats their boats!
I have one other complaint. I hate the chairs. I don't want ugly rental chairs. I want the entire ceremony area to be gorgeous. I've come up with 2 different options for chairs.
If I do decide to use the cheap rental chairs, I will have chair covers with sashes. It will look something like this:

Assuming cost of the 2 types of rental chairs are the same...I like the look of the second option over the first. I am not a huge fan of the chair covers. It is tired and over used. Your second option is a fresh spin on the age old ugly-banquet/folding-chair-dilemma. (not to mention the price of organza would be far cheaper than the chair cover & satin sash option)
ReplyDeleteWe did end up going with the white resin chairs. They just fit our wedding a whole lot better than the chair covers. And now, looking back, I don't know why I liked the chair covers to begin with!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that overall I'm really impressed with this ideas. But if you want to make your chair more classy, I recommend to use polyester chair covers. This kind of cloth will create a modern and sophisticated look for any event. Adding also gorgeous flowers like peonies and calla lilies will also add so much twist and glam on this event.
