Let's get this party started!

I got an email from our photographer today.  He said that the photos are going to take a little more time but assured me that I will have the disc in my hand my next weekend.  I sure hope so.  I'm running out of patience.  It was supposed to take 4 weeks and it's already been over 6 weeks.  I honestly don't know how brides wait months for photos.

Anyway, I'm going to get started with the wedding recaps.  However, the wedding weekend got started on the Thursday before the wedding, so let's start there!

After very little sleep (I'd been working a TON of hours before the big day), Philip and I headed to my office.  I had to finish up a few things and then our airport shuttle picked us up over half an hour late.  It took forever to get to the airport (thanks Super Shuttle!), but we still had plenty of time.  We had sent our luggage to my parents in the weeks prior, so we only had carry-on items with us.  So, we got right in the security line and were at our gate with over an hour to go.  Of course our flight didn't leave on time (Seriously, I can't remember the last time I had a completely on time flight!), but we eventually made it to Philly.

Taken by Philip's mom.  I was exhausted.  Not the image of a beautiful bride that night!
Philip's mom and stepdad picked us up at the airport (but not before Philip and I got some Auntie Anne's pretzels -- Yum!  Miss those things out here in Colorado!).  Then we headed to Dave & Melisa's house (Philip's aunt and uncle -- also the reception site).  My parents met us there to unload all of our wedding stuff and we scoped out the tent situation.  It looked fantastic!  Then we pretty much goofed off until it was time for bed.  It wasn't looking good for me since I was already exhausted before even getting started with our wedding weekend!

  1. Question! Were your lanterns your only source of light? I am doing the same thing as you with the LED candles and thought your rehearsal dinner night photo shows a nice glow, I'm worried it'll be dark in the tent in person.
